Your sponsorship of the 13th Annual Leap for The Lily Pad (formerly known as Run Up for Downs) will support the mission of The Lily Pad Café. The café employs & trains young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and equips them with the tools necessary to obtain employment by local businesses.
Last year, this event attracted 600-800 participants who came to celebrate inclusion and enjoy a fun, family friendly awareness evening. This event kicks off with a 5K run/walk and a fun run, and follows with live music, kids play pad area with activities, games and a sensory tent, great food and drinks donated by local businesses. Thanks to generous contributions like yours, we began training our first cohort of interns in the summer of 2024 and opened our cafe for lunch service in December 2024. We are now working with these interns to ensure they gain the skills needed to gain meaningful employment and independence.
We only allow items to be included in participant bags from our sponsors as part of your benefits. Our shirts have become walking advertisements our attendees wear for years following our event and we mail our shirts to all virtual participants not able to join us in person.
