The Lily Pad is looking for businesses interested in hiring interns as they prepare to “Leap from The Lily Pad” and enter the workforce. Partner with us as a future employer for our trained interns, who are gaining the skills and confidence needed for meaningful employment.

The Lily Pad is an Affiliate Partner of Hugs Cafe, Inc. out of McKinney, TX. Hugs is a leader in vocational training for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Lily Pad has implemented the Hugs Cafe Training Academy program and enhanced it by offering internships at its café; giving graduates real-world experience to build their skills and confidence.

Each position has opening and closing duties interns must complete before and after cafe hours.

Our program is set up to train and graduate a new group of interns every 3–4 months. The Lily Pad aims to collaborate with restaurants to prepare our interns for specific roles, provide insight into how each individual performs best in a work environment, and match them with jobs that align with the skills they’ve developed at The Lily Pad.
